She's a big fan of masking up.

If there's one thing Vanessa Hudgens has learned, it's that self-love and skincare go hand-in-hand, and as someone who's been in front of the camera for over a decade, she's aware of how important it is to preserve her skin.

When the High School Musical alum became the newest celebrity curator for IPSY's Icon Box, she decided to make it personal. "I went into my drawer in the bathroom and pulled out all the products that I loved and started from there," she told Women's Health. "There are a lot of great quality skincare products, and there are also makeup items to help you enhance your natural beauty."

The Icon Box will drop this August, and it features eight full-size products for subscribers. The total value of the box is $350, but subscribers can purchase it for $58. Read on to learn all about Hudgens' latest collaboration, as well as her secrets for taking care of her skin at home.

After being open about her struggles with acne over the years, Hudgens decided to create her own skincare line, Know Beauty. So far, the brand has released the Glacial Bay Clay Mask, which will also be included in her Icon Box. The mask contains key ingredients such as lactic acid, sea kelp, bentonite clay, and Canadian colloidal clay that pull excess oil and toxins from the skin. It also tightens pores and prevents breakouts while keeping the skin hydrated.

"I just love masking up," she says. "I think it's a wonderful moment to have for yourself multiple times a week, whether that's in the morning or the night, to really pull all the impurities out of your skin and deeply hydrate. And that was my goal with the mask."

When she's not using a mask to moisturize her skin, she turns to Augustinus Bader's The Rich Cream. "I feel like I throw that on and it gives me the whole glass skin thing," she says. "My skin is just absolutely radiating."

When investing in skincare, Hudgens likes to keep a close eye on the ingredients. "Vegan and cruelty-free is a big thing for me,"she says. "I love finding products with active ingredients in them that are really going to penetrate the epidermis."

She credits celebrity aesthetician Joanna Vargas for being very thoughtful with her products, which is why she included the Daily Serum from Vargas' namesake brand in the Icon Box as well. "I'm such a big fan of Joanna," she explains. "I think she's incredibly talented and pays attention to details and ingredients at a really high level."

While SPF should be applied year-round, it's extra important to use it during the summer when UV intensity is at its highest. That also means that having a go-to cleanser to remove SPF is equally important.

To keep her skin fresh, the star reaches for the Dr. Brandt Oil-To-Foam Cleanser. "It's super gentle on the skin, but it also removes SPF," she says. "I feel like that's an important little extra detail we should all be taking care of for the summer."

A self-proclaimed "beauty connoisseur," Hudgens notes that she's down to try it all, especially if she's given recommendations. Still, she knows the value of sticking to the products she knows best.

One of her longtime favorites? Neutrogena's Makeup Remover Facial Cleansing Towelettes. The gentle plant-based wipes remove dirt, oil, and sunscreen for a clean finish. Plus, they're hypoallergenic and free of parabens and sulfates.

"In my earlier years, I would try a bunch of different things and not give my skin the time to adjust to that product. And then the next thing I know, my skin is congested, and I'm a terrible guilty picker," she says. "So I think it's important to cycle in new products, but actually give them a chance to work and do their job."

Hudgens rarely gets skincare treatments, but when she does, she opts for non-invasive facials. If she's in LA before a big event, she'll go to Vargas for her signature microcurrent facial. The three-step process removes dead skin, redefines the cheekbones and jawline, and removes puffiness. It's also increases skin elasticity and firmness.

When she's not getting facials, she's using the Snatched by Paul Blanch Time Master Pro machine. "It uses ultrasound as well as high-frequency lights to activate the muscles and kind of give them a little workout," she says.
